Do you know what happens to the (disposable) razors you throw in the trash? It’s an important question that doesn’t get enough attention. If the answer were common knowledge, we’d hopefully think twice before buying new blades. The sheer volume of razor blades thrown away makes this question all the more relevant. We’re talking billions of them every year, most of which contain both plastic and metal—a combination that makes recycling nearly impossible.
That's why the answer to the original question is disappointing: almost nothing. Except that they contribute to the plastic soup and the plastic crisis. So think again and choose eco-friendly razors.
